Press Information Bureau is organizing the Economic Editors’ Conference 2004 on 17th & 18th November, 2004 in the National Media Centre, Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi. It will be inaugurated by the Union Finance Minister, Shri P. Chidambaram. There will be separate sessions with Ministers and senior officials of the key economic and infrastructure ministries.
The Conference will enable economic editors and journalists invited from all over the country to interact with them and get a detailed background of the government’s policies and programmes. They will also get a comprehensive view of the overall economic scenario in the country besides the latest policy initiatives and thrust areas of the Government. The Conference will also provide an opportunity to the Government to get feedback from the economic journalists.
Apart from Finance Ministry, Ministries of Commerce & Industry, Company Affairs, Agriculture, Petroleum & Natural Gas, Information & Broadcasting, Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, I.T. & Communication, Shipping, Road Transport & Highways, Steel, Chemicals & Fertilizers and Planning Commission are participating in this Conference. About 300 editors and financial writers are likely to attend.
