A 2-day Meeting of State Housing Ministers will be held from 29-11-2004. Minister of State for Urban Employment & Poverty Alleviation (I/C) Kum. Selja will inaugurate this and the key note address will be rendered by Shri Oscar Fernandes, Minister of Statistics & Programme Implementation(I/C). Minister for Panchayat Raj, Shri Mani Shankar Aiyar, will be the chief guest at the valedictory function on 30-11-2004.
This Conference is the last in the series of regional meetings held at New Delhi, Chandigarh & Bangalore to view National Housing & Habitat Policy, 1998. Among other items to be discussed during the meeting are: Valmiki Ambedkar Awas Yojana (VAMBAY); Two Million Housing Programme; Cooperation Housing; Urban Reforms Incentive Fund; Night Shelter Scheme for Urban Shelterless; Public – Private Partnership in EWS Housing; Cost Effective Housing Technology; National Slum Development Programme; HUDCO’s Areas of Concern with the State Governments; and Integrated Low Cost Sanitation Scheme.
