The Parliament Standing Committee on Rural Development is examining various aspects of rural housing. The Committee have invited views on or before 30 November, 2004. The full text of the Press Communique issued by the Lok Sabha Secretariat on 18 November, 2004 is given below:
"The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Rural Development headed by Shri Kalyan Singh, MP have decided to examine various aspects related to the subject `Rural Housing. The Committee at their sitting held on 3rd November, 2004 decided that in view of the importance of the subject `Rural Housing which affects the lives of masses in rural areas of the country, memoranda may be invited from the public in general and experts/professionals/organisations/associations interested in the subject in particular.
All the interested persons may send five copies of the memoranda containing their opinion/views on the subject to Shrimati Sudesh Luthra, Deputy Secretary, Lok Sabha Secretariat, Room No: 151, Parliament House Annexe, New Delhi- 110001, in a sealed cover so as to reach her on or before 30 November, 2004. The memoranda can also be sent by fax at Fax No: 011-23010756.
All the concerned may note that the memoranda on housing should be confined to various aspects related to rural areas only.
The memoranda which might be submitted to the Committee will form part of the records of the Committee and would be treated as strictly confidential and the contents thereof may not be divulged to anyone, as such an act would constitute a breach of privilege of the Committee.
Those who are desirous of giving oral evidence before the Committee, besides sending memoranda are requested to intimate the Lok Sabha Secretariat to this effect well in advance at the above mentioned address."
