The Department of Posts, as part of its Sesquicentennial Celebrations, is organising a Philately Exhibition “INPEX 150”. The three-day Exhibition will be inaugurated by Minister of State for Communications & Information Technology, Dr. Shakeel Ahmad, here tomorrow. The exhibition will house a variety of remarkable award winning collections of eminent philatelists and collections of National Philatelic Museum and the Army Postal Service. The Exhibition depicts very interesting aspects of the history of India into which the history of India Post in inter-twined. A wide variety of themes such as the erstwhile Indian States, Sports, Art & Culture and Nature, in addition to comprehensive collections on postal themes, reflects the richness of the collections of Indian Philatelists. Workshops on philately are being organised for School Children during the three days of Exhibition.
Special Covers with special cancellations will be released during the exhibition. A Special Cover will be released on 3rd November on the theme “E-Post” and on 4th November a Special Cover on the theme “Gangetic Dolphin” will be released. On the concluding day i.e. 5th November a Special Cover on the theme “Philately” will be released.
