serbia and india sign tourism promotion agreement

Serbia and India have decided to make joint efforts for promotion and development of tourism. Both the countries will work for the improvement of reciprocal tourists exchange and take measures for strengthening cooperation between public and private sectors of the countries. An agreement to this effect was signed today at Belgrade between Indian Minister of Tourism, Ms. Renuka Chowdhury and Minster of Trade, Tourism and Services of Serbia, Dr. Bojan Dimitrijevic.

According to the agreement, both the countries will support mutual business contacts, exchange of experts, knowledge, workshops among industry representatives in the area of tourism. The countries will also participate at tourist fairs and tourist events, organisation of exhibitions and exchange media representatives to publicize tourism opportunities in India and Serbia.

On the occasion, Ms. Renuka Chowdhury apprised the Minister of Serbia and representatives of Serbian tourism industry of the opportunities existing in Indian tourism sector. She also briefed about initiatives being taken by the Indian Government to upgrade infrastructure. Ms. Chowdhury expressed the hope that the agreement would further strengthen bilateral ties through tourism promotion.
