The Union Minister of Railways, Shri Lalu Prasad congratulated the Indian Cricket Team for winning the test match against Australia at Mumbai today. The Minister congratulated Shri Murali Kartik, the spinner and a Railway employee who took seven wickets in this match and was declared the Man of the Match.
The Railway Minister announced a cash award of Rs. 1 Lakh to Shri Kartik and out of turn promotion as a special case for his extraordinary performance in cricket at the international level.
Shri Kartik’s match winning performance has come at a time when Indian team was trailing the series 0-2 and his performance helped in defending the small score of Indian team put before the Australian team.
The Railway Minister wished Shri Kartik a bright and successful career.
