National Rail Museum and Railway Womens Welfare Central Organization (RWSCO) organized On the spot Drawing and Painting Competition and Origami Competition to mark the Bal Diwas here today. About 500 students from more than 100 schools took part in this competition in various age groups and categories.
The entries will be judged by Rathin Mitra, a renowned artist. The prize distribution ceremony of this competition will be held on the Museum Day on February 1, 2005. Children were allowed free entry in the museum courtesy Pink Elephant.
Joy Train, Boating, Monorail (Steam Engine Train) and Exhibition on Childrens illustrations by British Council were organized as a day long activities for children and visitors.
Exhibition of more than 100 sketches drawn by the noted artist Rathin Mitra on Heritage Buildings of Indian Railways, was organized. The President, RWWCO, Smt. Mithilesh Singh was the Chief Guest of the function. She inaugurated the exhibition. The exhibition will be open to visitors till November 30, 2004.
