Indian Railways have decided to provide Mobile Train Radio Communication (MTRC) on a total of 2415 route kilometres of busy A, B and C routes. MTRC will provide full duplex mobile communication between Loco Pilot (Driver) and Guard, Loco Pilot/ GuardStation Master, Loco Pilot/GuardControl Office and Loco Pilot/GuardLine staff to improve safety of rail services. MTRC will be provided on Howrah-Dhanbad (Eastern Railway), Dhanbad-Mughalsarai (East Central Railway), Delhi-Ambala-Ludhiana and Ludhiana-Jallandhar-Pathankot-Jammu Tawi including Amrtisar (Northern Railway), New Jalpaiguri-Bongaigaon-Guwahati and New Jalpaiguri-Barsoi Malda Town-Katihar (Northeast Frontier Railway), and Delhi-Jhansi excluding Palwal-Mathura (North Central Railway).
The sanctioned works are to be completed within a time frame of two to three years.
