The Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd. (KRCL) has made special arrangements to enable pilgrims for the exposition of over 400 years old relics of St. Xaviers in the sacred Church of Goa near Karmali. The KRCL will be running special trains and providing special halts from November 22 to January 9, 2005.
The additional train services will be operated between Madgaon and Pernem from November 22 to December 3, 2004 and from December 25, 2004 to January 2, 2005. The MP 1 Down Pernem-Madgaon special train will run between Pernem and Madgaon with no service on Wednesday. It will leave Pernem at 0955 hours and arrive at Madgaon at 1140 hours. The MP 2 Up Madgaon-Pernem special train will leave Madgaon at 0800 hours and arrive at Pernem at 0945 hours. On Wednesday, the train will run only upto Karmali. The MP 3 down Pernem-Madgaon special train will leave Pernem at 1620 hours and arrive at Madgaon at 1730 hours and MP 4 Up Madgaon-Pernem special train will depart from Madgaon at 1505 hours and arrive at Pernem at 1610 hours.
During this period, special halts will be provided for 0111/0112 Konkankania Express for two minutes at Majorda station, 0103/0104 Mandovi Express for two minutes at Majorda, 6335/6336 Gandhidham-Nagarcoil Express, 6337/6338 Okha-Ernakulam Express, 6311/6312 Jodhpur-Trivandrum Express Trains will halt at Karmali station on their scheduled days of running.
Every ten years the exposition of the relics of St. Xaviers is held at the sacred Church in Goa. Millions of people visit the sacred Church from all over the world to pay their homage to the relics of St. Xaviers.
