Nearly 15 lakh patients require facilities for diagnosis, treatment and follow up at a given time. Cancer usually occurs in the later years of life and with increase in life expectancy it is estimated that the total cancer burden in India for all sites will increase from 6.02 lakh new cases per year to 14.14. lakh between 1991-2026.
