hcl contribution to government exchequer

Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL), a public sector unit of the Department of Mines has paid Rs.90.75 crore to the Government exchequer during the year 2003-04. Out of this, Rs.66.18 crore is excise duty, Rs.9.56 crore royalty & cess, Rs.3.57 crore customs duty, Rs.8.44 crore sales tax and Rs.3 crore towards other charges. It is estimated that, during 2004-05, the Company would pay Rs.84.52 crore to the Government towards these duties. During 2002-03, it contributed Rs.105.54 crore to the Government exchequer.
