The Government has declared the Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences, Karad, Satara, Maharashtra and the Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences, Nagpur, Maharashtra as Deemed to be the Universities with immediate effect. The Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences, Nagpur comprising (i) Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Wardha, Maharashtra and (ii) Sharad Pawar Dental College, Wardha, Maharashtra.
The declaration has been made under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 on the advice of the UGC .
These Institutes will adhere to the guidelines/instructions issued by UGC and other concerned statutory bodies from time to time as applicable to the Deemed Universities.
