The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) today gave its approval for the establishment of transmission system associated with Rajasthan Atomic Power Project (RAPP) 5 & 6 at a total estimated cost of Rs.499.45 crore including an IDC (Interest During Construction) component of Rs.22.38 crore (at 4th quarter, 2004 price level). The approved transmission lines are:
(i) RAPP Kankroli 400 kV Double Circuit (D/C) transmission line 198 Km
(ii) RAPP Kota 400 kV Single Circuit (S/C) transmission line 62 Km
The transmission system is likely to be completed within 33 months.
The transmission project would facilitate evacuation of power from Rajasthan Atomic Power Project (RAPP) 5 & 6 and further dispersal to various beneficiaries of Northern Region. Power Grid will complete the system in a manner that when Atomic Power Unit will be commissioned in June 2007, the transmission system will be available. The beneficiary States will be all Northern States, viz., J&K, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, U.P., Uttaranchal & Delhi.
