The Minister of State for External Affairs, Shri E. Ahamed informed the Rajya Sabha today that the Government has frequently requested Government of Bangladesh to provide rail and road transit and additional facilities through the riverine route to the northeastern states. The response of the Government of Bangladesh is awaited. Government will continue to take up the matter with the Government of Bangladesh, he added.
The Minister was replying to a question by Shri Matilal Sarkar.
