The Vice President, Shri Bhairon Singh Shekhawat has expressed heart-felt grief over the sudden demise of veteran actor, Parliamentarian, philanthropist, social worker and Union Minister of Sports & Youth Affairs, Shri Sunil Dutt.
Describing Shri Sunil Dutt as champion of peace & brotherhood, the Vice President said that he was a multi-facetted personality who excelled in every field, be it acting, social service, working for the poor and the deprived and raising their cause in the Parliament. Life for Sunil Dutt was a mix of triumphs, misfortunes, agonies and ecstasies, yet he never lost his calmness and dealt with every situation triumphantly. He possessed an infectious enthusiasm and motivated all those around him to work with dedication, Shri Shekhawat said.
From the 1962 China war to the Kargil conflict, Sunil Dutt always went enthusiastically to the border and shared experiences with valiant jawans. In his death the country has lost an idol who lived by setting up example, the Vice President added.
