How compassionate and kind hearted Shri Sunil Dutt was is evident from the letter that he had written to the Vice President, Shri Bhairon Singh Shekhawat only a day before his death. Shri Dutt had sent a cheque of Rs.25,000 after reading a story in the Sunday newspapers about the Vice President helping the family of an obscure eastern UP labourer, Shivnath Singh who died in an accident but gave life to six others by donating his organs.
The Vice President, Shri Shekhawat, who received Shri Sunil Dutt’s letter today along with the shocking news of his death, could not control his emotions. The following is the facsimile of Shri Dutt’s letter :
