The total production of Lignite during March 2005 by the Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited (NLC), a public sector unit of the Ministry of Coal has been estimated at 24.38 lakh tonnes which is 14.73 per cent more than the target of 21.25 lakh tonnes and 14.03 per cent more than the production of 21.38 lakh tonnes during the same month last year. The company during the month generated 1750.45 million units of power, 19.81 per cent more than the target of 1461 million units and 5.71 per cent more than the production of 1655.85 million units produced in March last year. It exported 1499.93 million units during the month.
