JAIL TERMS FOR FOUR BUSINESSMEN OF MEERUT FOR CHEATING A NATIONALISED BANK.COURT ASKS TWO MEERUT BUSINESSMEN TO COMPENSATE STATE BANK OF INDIA WITH RS.1.26 CRORE.
Four businessmen of Meerut have been awarded six years rigorous imprisonment along with fine for cheating the State Bank of India of Rs.31.92 lakh on the basis of forged documents in 1987.
The Special Judicial Magistrate, Ghaziabad Shri Narendra Kumar convicted S/Shri Banwari Lal, Rajeshwar Dayal and Krishan Kumar to three years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs.5,000/- u/s 120-B and
three years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs.5,000/- u/s 420 IPC, while convicting another accused Sh.Mukesh Kumar to three years R.I. and a fine of Rs.5,000/- u/s 120-B and three years R.I. and
fine of Rs.5,000/- u/s 420 r/w 109 IPC. The court directed that all the sentences shall run separately. The court after seeing the gravity of offence and its impact on the economy also directed S/Shri Rajesh Dayal
and Banwari Lal to pay Rs.63 lakh each to State Bank of India, Kithore Branch, Meerut as compensation u/s 357 Cr.P.C. within one month of the judgement.


CBI had registered two cases and filed a common chargesheet against Shri Rajeshwar Dayal, Proprietor of M/S Rajeshwar Dayal, Kithore, Meerut; Shri Krishan Kumar, Proprietor M/S Kithore Dairy Farm, Kithore, Meerut;
Shri Banwari Lal and Shri Mukesh Kumar, Proprietors, M/S Modern Ice and Milk Chilling Centre, Meerut u/s 120-B, 420, 467 IPC alleging that all the accused persons cheated the State Bank of India, Kithore Branch, Meerut on the basis of forged documents.
