Navy to Navy cooperation between the Indian and the United States Navy is being conducted through the Navy Steering Group of the Indo-US Defence Policy Group set up in 1995. No specific offer for closer ties between the two Navies has been made, but the US and Indian Navies have been deepening their professional interaction through joint level exercises, high level visits and possible procurement options.
This information was given by the Defence Minister Shri Pranab Mukherjee in a written reply to Shri Lalit Suri in Rajya Sabha today.
