FRAUDSTER WHO BOOKED RAIL TICKETS USING CREDIT CARD DETAILS OF OTHERS ARRESTED.

The Cyber Crime Investigation Cell of CBI has arrested a person for fraudulently booking railway tickets using stolen credit card details of other persons. The case was registered by CBI recently on the complaint of an IRCTC official that some unknown persons, during October,2003 to March 2004, fraudulently booked about 40 railway tickets through the IRCTC website, www.irctc.co.in using stolen credit card details.

During investigation, the 27 year old accused, a resident of Mumbai admitted to having booked about 70 railway tickets through IRCTC website using other persons' credit card details, which he had stolen when he was working with a Bar & Restaurant, Near Metro, Mumbai. He disclosed that he used credit card details of the customers who visited the Restaurant and sold the booked tickets to his friends and other passengers. Stolen credit card numbers and some fake railway identity cards have also been recovered from his possession.

The accused was produced today before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Delhi.
