Dr. Shakeel Ahmad, Minister of State for Communications & Information Technology had meetings with Mr. Yasutoshi Nishimura, a Member from the House of Representatives, Japan and Dr. Juan Schiaretti, Vice Governor, Cordoba Province of Argentina who called on him, here today.
In the first meeting with the Japanese dignitary, both the sides felt that the recent initiatives to reconstitute ICT forum would pave the way for fruitful collaboration both at Government and Industry levels. It was reiterated by both the sides that the Forum will be constituted soon. As a beginning towards this, it was agreed by both the sides that a Policy Group/Task Force will be constituted comprising of representatives from Government and Industry. Both the sides further expressed their desire to work jointly in the areas of Telecom R&D, Broadband and embedded software.
In the meeting with the Argentinean Vice-Governor, both the sides exchanged views on the status of the Telecom & IT developments in their respective countries. Argentine side expressed its strong desire to have industry-to-industry collaboration for the proliferation of IT in their country.
