The Government has received a proposal from Delhi Police to form a Delhi Police Housing Corporation. The proposed Corporation will cater to the housing needs of Delhi Police including formulation and execution of housing schemes and maintenance of office and residential buildings. Acceptance of the proposal depends on the outcome of consultation with concerned Ministries. During 2004-05, a sum of Rs.49.53 crore was utilized by Delhi Police for purchase of 177 ready built flats from DDA. A budget provision of Rs.63.00 crore for the financial year 2005-06 has been made to meet the housing needs of Delhi Police.

This information was given by the Minister of State for Home, Shri S. Regupathy in written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha today.
