The Union Cabinet today gave its approval for introducing a Bill in Parliament in order to amend the Labour Laws (Exemption from furnishing Returns and Maintaining of Registers by Certain Establishments) Act, 1988 for simplifying the forms of returns and registers prescribed under certain labour laws. Cabinet also gave its approval to make amendments in the Scheduled Acts to prescribe penalty, on uniform basis, for obstructions and non-maintenance of records.
