The total production of Aluminium metal in the country during April 2005 has been estimated at 70,164 tonnes as against 60,753 tonnes during the same period last year. Out of this, the public sector National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) produced 29,114 tonnes and Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO) with 49 per cent Central Government equity 8,166 tonnes. The private sector Hindustan Aluminium Company Limited (HINDALCO) produced 29,787 tonnes and Madras Aluminium Company Limited (MALCO) 3,097 tonnes. April production has crossed the target of 69,446 tonnes.
