The Government proposes to upgrade some stadia under the New Delhi Municipal Corporation before the commencement of Commonwealth Games.
Government of NCT Delhi has forwarded an Action Plan regarding infrastructure development and beautification of Delhi, which includes a tentative allocation of Rs.50 crore on account of upgradation of Talkatora and Shivaji Stadium besides improvement of roads around these stadia with the request to facilitate the provision of additional funds over and above their normal budget. The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports would facilitate the matter.
This information was given by the Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Shri Sunil Dutt in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today.
