Shri V.K. Duggal today took over as Union Home Secretary. He has replaced Shri Dhirendra Singh, who has retired on superannuation. Shri Duggal is a 1968 batch IAS officer and belongs to AGMU cadre. He earlier served as Secretary, Water Resources; Secretary, Drinking Water Supply Department; Secretary, Steel; Special Secretary, Environment; Addl. Secretary, Commerce; DG, Tourism; General Manager, Delhi Vidyut Board and Commissioner, MCD. He was also Advisor to the Chandigarh Administrator/Punjab Governor for about two years.
