The Central Government has constituted a Task Force in the Minister of Home Affairs in October, 2004 which reviews the anti-naxalite operations being undertaken by the naxal affected States including those across the State boundaries. The Task Force in its 2nd meeting held on 10.1.2005 at Raipur, Chhattisgarh took note of naxal groups crossing State boundaries to give a slip to the police and inter-alia, asked the affected States to explore the feasibility of setting up of Joint Special Task Forces among themselves. The Ministry has decided to regularly review further action in this regard.
The Minister of State for Home, Shri Sriprakash Jaiswal said this in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today.
