support to state extension programmes for extension reforms

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) in its meeting last evening gave its approval for implementation of the Centrally Sponsored Scheme “Support to State Extension Programmes for Extension Reforms” at a cost of Rs.69.28 crore for the current financial year and Rs.226.07 crore for X Plan period. The cost will be shared between Centre and the States in the ratio of 90:10.

This will provide need-based support to the States for undertaking large-scale agricultural extension reforms, thereby contributing to the achievement of the desired rate of growth in agriculture sector and empowerment of the farming community.
