The Government is aware of the periodical intrusions that take place on both sides of Line of Actual Control (LAC). The intrusions result from different perceptions of the LAC by both countries. To overcome such intrusions, both countries are seeking clarifications and confirmation of the LAC through Joint Working Group / Expert Group mechanism.
The first meeting of Indo-China Strategic dialogue was held in New Delhi in January this year wherein discussions took place on important regional and global issues that shape the present international environment. The discussions covered bilateral relations, foreign security policies and preparations for the forthcoming visit of the Chinese Premier to India, later this year.
This information was given by the Defence Minister Shri Pranab Mukherjee in a written reply to S/Shri Pyarelal Khandelwal and Kalraj Mishra in Rajya Sabha today.
