CBI arrested a Company Commander/Inspector, Railway Protection
Force, Hapur, Ghaziabad while he was accepting a bribe of
Rs. 10,000/- from the complainant.
Searches are being carried out at the residential and official
premises of the accused official. The accused official has
been demanding money from the complainant, who is a caterer
with the Railways for not harassing him in carrying out his
business. But when the demand for money became very high and
unreasonable the complainant was aggrieved and complained
before the CBI, Dehradun Branch.
After verification of the complaint, CBI laid a trap and
caught the accused red-handed accepting the money from the
complainant.He was immediately arrested. Preliminary investigation
by CBI shows likely involvement of other RPF officials in
this racket.
