In connection with the 350th anniversary of the Taj Mahal, the Ministry of Culture organized an All India Essay Competition (in Hindi) for school students. The competition was held in two categories: senior and junior. 800 entries were received from all over India. In the junior category, Ms. Abhigya of Navyug School, Sarojini School, New Delhi bagged the first prize whereas Vaghasia Jenius Jaisukhbhai of the P. P. Sawni Vidya Bhawan, Surat won the second prize. Digant Dubey of Badayun, Jyoti Yadav of Gurgaon and Sayli Sunil Odhkar of Valva, maharashtra won the consolation prizes.
In the senior category, Bhanu Singh of RadhaValva Inter-College, Shahgunj, Agra got the first prize while Jeeverjani Puja Natwarlal, I.P. Mission Girls High School, Rajkot won the second prize. Mahul Patel of Daman, Vishal Vasudev Humbar of Karnataka and Chandni Singla of Chandigarh won consolation prizes.
