The government is aware of the damage suffered by the Keoladeo Ghana National Park due to non-availability of sufficient water.

The scarcity of water in the park has affected the arrival of migratory birds. Only 5792 birds have been counted in January 2005 against 17,081 in January, 2004. The Government of India is providing necessary technical and financial assistance for the development and management of Park.

This information was given by the Minister of State for Environment and Forests Shri Namo Narain Meena in a written reply to Member of Parliament, Shri Anand Sharma in Rajya Sabha today.
