Total Sanitation Campaign (TSC) projects in all districts of Tamil Nadu have been sanctioned. In these projects, funds are released to the districts based on the demand raised by them and there is no fixed allocation.
In the current financial year (2004-05), Rs. 109.70 crore has been released to different districts of Tamil Nadu. In the year 2005-06, funds will be released based on the proposals received from the State Government.
It is to be further added that the performance of sanitation campaign is satisfactory. 13 Gram Panchayats and one Block Panchayat have recently been given Nirmal Gram Puraskars.
This information was given by Dr. Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, Minister of Rural Development in a written reply in Rajya Sabha today.
