The Union Cabinet today gave its approval for promulgation of:
(i) The Daman and Diu Value Added Tax Regulation, 2005 and
(ii) The Dadra and Nagar Haveli Value Added Tax Regulation, 2005
Under Article 240 of the Constitution and repeal of the existing tax laws.
The Value Added Tax (VAT) structure will rationalize the overall tax burden, simplify it and make it more transparent leading to improved tax compliance and increase in revenue.
