BCCI an autonomous society registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, coordinates with the Ministry on issues relating to the promotion of cricket in the country. The Ministry also assists BCCI in this task.
BCCI has indicated that it is engaged in the activity of promoting and popularising the game of cricket in the country and it follows its by-laws and decisions taken by the working committee from time to time.
As per information received from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), its total earnings during the last three years are as given below:
2001-2002 Rs. 10,502.47 lakhs
2002-2003 Rs. 10,738.02 lakhs
2003-2004 Rs. 13,157,33 lakhs
The total expenses of the BCCI during the last three years are given below:
2001-2002 Rs. 7,531.88 lakhs
2002-2003 Rs.10,974.76 lakhs
2003-2004 Rs. 9,106.32 lakhs
The details of the total revenue earned by the BCCI by sponsorship of various tournaments and international matches, during the last three years are given below:
