PRIVATE COMPANY EMPLOYEE IN CBI NET FOR POSTING MORPHED PHOTOGRAPH OF A WOMAN ON THE INTERNET

CBI has arrested the Secretary to the Director of a Private Company of Delhi for sending threatening and obscene e-mails to a woman and also posting here morphed photograph on a website. He was taken into police custody for interrogation and after completion of his police remand, he was produced before the CMM, Tis Hazari Court, Delhi today, who remanded him in judicial custody.

The Cyber Crime Investigation Cell (CCIC) of CBI registered a case under section 120-B, 506, 509 IPC & section 67 of IT Act on the 9th of this month on the basis of a written complaint from a woman who alleged that she had been receiving threatening and obscene e-mails from some unknown person. The said e-mails were also containing her photograph which was morphed on an obscene photograph. The sender of the e-mails had threatened her that if she did not agree to his terms, the said morphed photograph would be posted on the Internet. Besides, he also posted the photograph of the woman on the clubs.indiatimes.com website. After registration of the case and during the investigation, it was revealed that all the said e-mails had originated from the same IP address, 61.16.235.146 which was being used by a private company located in Antariksh Building, KG Marg, New Delhi. On the basis of the available information, the premises of the said company was searched and suspected computers were examined. After analyzing all the inputs revealed during the search, it was disclosed that the 35 year old person who was working as Secretary to the Director of the Company had sent all the alleged e-mails to the complainant. The copy of the e-mails and the morphed photograph were recovered from the Computer of the accused. He was arrested and taken in police custody for interrogation and after completion of his police remand, he was remanded to judicial custody today
