The Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, and Smt. Gurusharan Kaur hosted a private lunch in honour of the members of the family of President Pervez Musharraf, who are presently on a visit to India. The guests included President Musharraf’s mother, Begum Musharrafuddin; his brother, Mr Javed Musharraf; and his son, Mr Bilal Musharraf. They were joined by the High Commissioners of both the countries.
Dr Manmohan Singh and Smt. Gurusharan Kaur wished their guests a comfortable and a happy stay in India. They hoped the visitors would get an opportunity to enjoy Indian hospitality and watch the on-going cricket series. Dr Singh enquired about Begum Musharrafuddin’s days in India and about her friends and relatives in India.
The Prime Minister and Smt. Gurusharan Kaur said that they were looking forward to receive President Musharraf and Mrs. Musharraf in New Delhi on April 16, 2005.
