Shri Mani Shankar Aiyar, Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Panchayati Raj has expressed shock at the sad and untimely passing away of Shri Pardeep Puri a senior journalist who had a long and outstanding record of reporting on economic matters specially energy sector.
In his condolence message to the bereaved family Shri Aiyar said: "I am deeply shocked to learn of the sudden demise of Pardeep Puri, Managing Editor, Petrowatch and a senior economic journalist, today. The contribution of Shri Puri to economic journalism and to the oil sector in particular would be long remembered. We shall certainly miss his pointed views on oil sector development. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. May his soul rest in peace."
Shri Pardeep Puri with a journalistic background of about 30 years held important assignments in various media organizations including Times of India, Economic Times, Observer and as Energy Editor in the Business Standard before taking over as Managing Director of Petrowatch.
