Recovery of dues from defaulting establishments is made in accordance with the provision of the Employees Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952. This includes prosecution under Section 14 of the Act, filing complaints under Sections 406/409 of IPC, attachment of properties/bank accounts, and arrest of defaulters. The Employees Provident Fund Organisation has launched a special drive for recovering outstanding dues by formulating special squads of recovery in each of the regions and stepping up its coercive action under the law.
This was stated by the labour and Employment Minister, Shri K. Chandrasekhar Rao in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today.
