The Ministry of Railways have decided to introduce a new Express train between Kochuveli – Hazrat Nizamuddin via Konkan Railway w.e.f. 30th March, 2005. The new train will be weekly and is classified as “Superfast”.
The 2653 Kochuveli – Hazrat Nizamuddin Express will run ex-kochuveli every Friday, while 2654 Haz. Nizamuddin – Kochuveli will run ex-Nizamuddin every Monday.
The inaugural special train will run ex-Kochuveli on 30th March. Regular service of the train will start from 4th April ex-Haz. Nizamuddin. The inaugural special will leave from Kochuveli at 1030 hrs. and reach Haz. Nizamuddin at 1200 hrs. on 1st April.
The timings of the regular service shall be as follows:

18:00 hrs. Dep. Kochuveli Arr. 07:00 hrs.
(on 2nd day)
18:00 hrs. Arr. Haz. Nizamuddin Dep. 07:25 hrs.
(on 2nd day)
Commercial Halts of the train are Quilon, Kayankulam, Alleppey, Ernakulam Jn., Trichur, Shoranur, Calicut, Cannanore and Kankanadi.
The train will have 17 coaches – 4 general coaches, 8 second class sleepers, one composite coach of AC first class and AC-2tier, one AC 3-tier, one pantry car, 2 guard cum brake vans.
