All State Governments, barring Goa and Haryana, have signed Memorandum of Understanding with Government of India under Fiscal Reforms Facility Scheme. Such a State, if it achieves stipulated improvement in the ratio of revenue deficit to revenue receipts, is provided incentive out of Rs.10,607 crore incentive fund. In addition, such states have been assisted for structural reforms also. The States which have not signed MoUs have not been provided this incentive.
This information was given by Shri S. S. Palanimanickam, Minister of State for Finance, in reply to a question by Shri Suresh Bhardwaj in Rajya Sabha today.
