medical facilities to ex-servicemen

The Government has set up 152 polyclinics in the States of Haryana (12), Himachal Pradesh (8), Punjab (15), Rajasthan (13), Union Territory of Chandigarh (1), Tamil Nadu (5), Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar (1), Assam (3), Meghalaya (1), Nagaland (1), Andhra Pradesh (3), Karnataka (6), Madhya Pradesh (7), Uttar Pradesh (19), J&K (10), Kerala (6), Manipur (1), Mizoram (1), Sikkim (1), Tripura (1), West Bengal (5), Uttaranchal (5), Union territory of Delhi (2), Bihar (5), Jharkhand (1), Orissa (3), Gujarat (3), Maharashtra (12) and Goa (1) for providing medical facilities to ex-servicemen. Another 75 polyclinics will be established in the States of Punjab(1), Tamil Nadu (16), Nagaland (1), Andhra Pradesh (5), Karnataka (3), Uttar Pradesh (15), Rajasthan (4), Kerala (5), West Bengal(3), Uttaranchal (3), Haryana (7), Bihar (1), Jharkhand (1), Madhya Pradesh (1) and Maharasthra (9)

Out of total capital expenditure of Rs 118 crore and revenue expenditure of Rs 150 crore, an amount of Rs. 17.98 crore is expected to be incurred from capital expenditure and Rs. 93.42 crore from revenue expenditure by 31st of this month.

The polyclinics have been provided with facilities as authorized. However, there is shortfall of medical staff and medical equipment at some of the selected places. The shortfall is due to non-availability of medical staff as per the prescribed qualifying criteria and delay in placement of order for medical equipment.
