The Union Minister of Information & Broadcasting and Culture, Shri S. Jaipal Reddy and the UK Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, Ms. Tessa Jowell today discussed the bi-lateral cooperation in the field of film co-production. The two countries signed the Statement of Intent in this regard. The two sides recognized that there is a huge potential for the film industries of the two countries to work together and the development of such potential will be to the mutual advantage. Under the Statement of Intent, the two sides committed themselves to entering into negotiations to establish a bi-lateral agreement on film co-production based on mutual economic and cultural benefit. They also agreed to encourage and facilitate the advancement of such a film co-production agreement and its implementation.
