The Government has taken various steps to improve the viability of PSEs like Burn Standard Co. Ltd. & Tyre Corporation of India Ltd. Though , the Government provides financial assistance to some of the Public Sector Enterprises, payment of wages/salaries is primarily the responsibility of the Company concerned. While, the payment of wages/salaries is regular in Burn Standard Company Co. Ltd. & Tyre Corporation of India Ltd,, in case of Hindustan Cables Ltd., and Bharat Opthalmic Gloass Ltd., the wages/salaries payment is pending for a few months.
This information was given by the Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Shri Sontosh Mohan Dev in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha today.
