An amount of Rs. 412.26 crore has been provisionally allocated in the Plan Budget of the Central Government for various schemes of assistance to SSI Units for the year 2005-06. The allocation of these funds is made scheme-wise and not State-wise .
The schemes/programmes of the Central Government supplement the efforts of the State/Union Territories for promotion of small scale industries so as to create an environment conducive for the entrepreneurs to establish industries in the small scale sector.
This information was given by the Minister of Small Scale Industries and Agro & Rural Industries , Shri Mahabir Prasad in a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha today.
