Frequent Rail Travellers, who register for the scheme, will be awarded points depending on their frequency of travel. Accumulated points will be suitably rewarded. The scheme will be applicable to 1st AC, 2AC & AC-Chair Car classes. The Minister of State for Railways Shri R. Velu, gave this information in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today. Shri Velu further informed the House that this scheme is likely to be started in all trains in the current year.
However, the Minister added to inform that presently no such scheme has been approved, and the gains from frequent travelers scheme have not been estimated.
