4597 million passengers were booked on Indian Railways during April 04 to January, 05, which is 6.32% higher than the corresponding period of previous year as compared to the target of 5.47% for the whole year 2004-05. Stating this in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha today, the Minister of State for Railways, Shri R. Velu informed the House that revenue freight loading target for the year 2004-05 has been fixed as under:
