The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has revised the price of bulk drug Rifampicin. The Maximum Selling Price (MSP) of this bulk drug has been revised from Rs.4200/Kg. to Rs.3480/Kg. based on detailed cost price study of M/s. Novartis, M/s. GTBL and M/s. Lupin Ltd. under para 3 of DPCO, 1995. The price now notified works out to 17.14 per cent less than the earlier notified price.
The revised notified price shall become effective within 15 days from the date of notification of Official Gazette. All the manufacturers of the formulations utilizing the drug in their scheduled formulations are advised to follow the provisions of DPCO ,1995 with regard to pricing of the derivative formulations.
