The Government has extended the validity period of Non-Levy (Free sale) quota of sugar for February 2005 up to March 15, 2005. According to a notification issued by the Department of Food and Public Distribution yesterday, sugar mills would be permitted to sell the February quota of free sale sugar allotted to them till March 15.
Government had released 12 lakh tonnes of sugar for free sale for the month of March 2005 in addition to a levy sugar quota of 2.16 lakh tonnes already.
