extradition treaty with oman, bulgaria and kazakhstan

The Union Cabinet today gave its ex-post facto approval for the Extradition Treaty (i) between India and Oman signed on 26 December, 2004 at Muscat during the visit of the Minister of External Affairs to Oman; (ii) between India and Bulgaria signed on October 23, 2003 at Sofia by the Minister of Disinvestment and Communications and information Technology of India during the visit of the President of India to Bulgaria and also authorized the ratification thereof.

The Cabinet also gave its approval for signing and ratification of Extradition Treaty between India and Kazakhstan.

These Treaties would provide a legal framework for extradition of terrorists and other criminals from and to these countries.
